Teenage gangs robbed at a frequented tourist spot in Budapest – VIDEO

The police caught three teenagers; two perpetrators are underage.

On 19 September, four boys were spending their time on Gellért-hegy when they were threatened by a group of four at around 9 PM. The criminals told them to hand over their valuables, and one of them pulled out a gun that later was identified as a realistic toy gun and not a real weapon. The victims handed over a mobile phone and earphones. After this, the perpetrators left the scene. –wrote police.hu.The victims reported the case to the police the following day. Not too long after the incident, the teenagers were caught by the police on September 24.

The teenagers aged 18, 16 and 14 testified. The criminal justice procedure is ongoing.

The current case, however, is not the first occasion when unfortunate events took place because of teenagers turned criminals. At the end of 2019, boys aged 14-16 attacked 11 people. According to the juvenile prosecutor’s proposal, four of them would serve their sentence in prison, and one would be suspended.

Initially, two boys decided to use gas weapons, alarm weapons and their air weapons to rob victims, with their faces covered like bandits. Later, they allowed three other minors to be involved in the criminal activity. They threatened people in the streets and got their phones and money.

They covered their faces with hoodies, masks, scarves and decided who would approach the next victim based on rock-paper-scissors.

On one occasion, one of the victims ran away, two of the criminals ran after him, one boy shot at him but missed, and the police officers close by heard the gunshot. They caught the two boys, and later the teenage gang had to face charges. Based on how many crimes they were involved in, the band was charged with robbery with weapons, gang robbery, and robbery committed in a criminal organisation.- wrote ugyeszseg.hu.

The two boys who got caught told the police that they committed crimes between 7 and 11 December, and the lineup of the gang was always different. One of the 14 years old boys was the only one who participated in each robbery. They robbed in Újbuda és a Gellért-hegy, in total fo eight times and got 120,000 forints (EUR 335.20), a mobile phone and a speaker from 11 victims.- writes police.hu.
